Laboratory Services
Our convenient on-site diagnostic laboratory makes it fast and efficient to run a wide variety of tests. In many cases, we can have results in just a few minutes. This means we can have a treatment plan in place before you and your loved one even leave the exam room.
Common Diagnostic tests we run in our on-site laboratory include but not limited to:
-
-
- Complete Blood Count (CBC): The CBC measures the number of white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets in a blood sample. From this test, we can identify conditions like infection, anemia, inflammation, and leukemia.
- Blood Chemistry Panel: This is used as a baseline of health and can determine the functionality of organs.
- Urinalysis: This can detect urinary tract infections, liver disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and dehydration.
- Thyroid: Thyroid tests examine the outputs of hormones necessary for metabolism and energy. This is very important in senior animals.
- Electrolytes: These monitor health condition, dehydration, and bone metabolism.
- Fecal Exams: Used to check for intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, coccidia and giardia.
- Skin Scrapings/Impressions: Tests for bacteria, parasites and fungi.

Digital Imaging
When a physical exam and lab work aren’t sufficient for reaching a proper diagnosis, we turn to advanced imaging technology, including digital x-rays and ultrasound. These tools allow us to evaluate the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity.
Diagnostic images can be analyzed by our doctors in real-time or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.
